oUR MISSION
We know that improvement in our town will take more than one day or one event. We are building bridges with different initiatives that combine community member passions and connect them with our city needs. Our initiatives host year round events that all community members are invited and encouraged to participate in. It is our hope that these events will start meaningful conversations and create positive change in Bryan. We hope to inspire others to do what they can to bring our community closer together. oUR STORY
Affected by the slaying of George Floyd, our founder attended a community forum to listen to community leaders. As she heard the struggles voiced by Bryan Police Chief Eric Buske when it came to building relationships within the community, she felt led to share some of her own ideas. Chief Buske invited her to meet with him and the assistant police chiefs, who welcomed her warmly. They listened to her ideas and took a bold leap of faith to step out of their comfort zones. Together, they tried some very new ways to build relationships with the community they served, and I Heart Bryan was born.
Since that fateful day, I Heart Bryan has sought out to find gaps in relationships between various parts of our community and beyond, and has strived to build bridges between those gaps to create more unity everywhere. Our police engagement events have now been duplicated all over the world! We are very happy to share our “how” and tell anyone who asks why we love Bryan so much.
