At All Heart Inc., we are passionate about connecting community members. With our Journey Together Initiative, we are looking to partner Mentors and Mentees. Mentoring is a powerful tool that we can use to strengthen our community and develop passionate leaders.
Great Mentors will be enthusiastic life learners. They will be passionate about helping others grow and use their personal and work experiences to guide them. Great Mentees are open to guidance and value learning first hand from someone who’s experienced in their field. Mentees ask good questions and are open to honest feedback.
This unique initiative has many wonderful benefits to both the mentor and mentee. Mentoring through Journey Together will allow both partners to learn and develop professionally and personally. The mentor mentee relationship will gain value from advice given, motivation with goal setting and direction from experiences . This is an opportunity for networking in Bryan and a great way to help pave the way for success in our community for years to come.

MENTORS

Sign up to be a mentor through Journey Together! You will be paired with a local college freshman who you will have the honor of mentoring during such an important time of life.

Great mentees are open to guidance and value learning first hand from someone who’s experienced in their field. Mentees ask good questions and are open to honest feedback.
Journey Together wants to pair you with a mentor that will walk along side you during your college years and be available for guidance every step of the way.
Journey Together F.A.Q.
Mentors will be those who have gone on to receive a higher education, whether that be a technical degree, Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or higher. We welcome all backgrounds, majors, and business types. In our opinion, the wider the diversity, the better the outcome!
Mentors will be responsible for giving advice on applications and essays, how to balance school and work, offer studying tips, and help point the mentees in the right direction when it comes to financial aid.
We are asking for a commitment of seeing the scholarship recipients through at least their first year of college, which is often the hardest and has the highest percentage of drop-out rates. After that, both parties could agree upon a longer commitment if they wish to do so.
Mentors should check in with their mentee at least twice per month, via Zoom or Google Meets, whichever both prefer. During this check-in, mentors can help answer questions that their mentees may have. A member of the Journey Together team will reach out to all mentors monthly, just to be sure that none of the scholarship recipients are falling through the cracks.
Scholarship recipients will be given a questionnaire that will gauge what their interests and career goals are. This will be used to match them with mentors in the career field that most closely matches with their plans.
No, mentors are offering their time and talents on a volunteer basis.
We would love to have mentors that live in different cities, and even states! Scholarship recipients will be going to a variety of colleges. Though most will be in the state of Texas, there may be some students that will be attending in other states.
